A Prayer for World Youth Day
God Our Father, from Whom all good things come,
we consecrate to you the World Youth Day Sydney.
Guide and protect Pope Benedict and all the leaders of the Church.
Inspire and direct all those leading and planning the World Youth Day.
Unite and protect us by your Fatherly care.
Lord Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Saviour,
before you ascended to the Father,
you promised to send your Holy Spirit so that we might be your
witnesses to the ends of the earth.
Bless and multiply the efforts of our pilgrims.
Help us to take up our cross and follow You daily.
Holy Spirit, Who transformed the Apostles at Pentecost,
pour your grace on us and grant us a New Pentecost.
Grant us conversion of life, a deeper faith and love for all.
Help us to discover our vocation in life.
Enable us to build a new civilisation of life, love and truth.
Descend on us and make us true and courageous witnesses to Your Power and Love.
Blessed Mary, Mother of the Church,
look down upon us your children.
Help us to entrust our lives completely to your motherly care
after the example of Servant of God, Pope John Paul II.

A Pilgrim's Prayer
O Virgin Mary, you are the help of Christians.
Throughout our journey of life we dedicate ourselves to you and to the service of Jesus your Son.
We offer our minds, hearts, and bodies to work for the glory of God and the salvation of all people.
We pray for the Church throughout the world.
Protect the young and help the aged, save sinners and console the dying.
You are our joy and our hope, Mary, Mother of Mercy and Gate of Heaven.
We come to you in confidence.
We seek to be filled with deep faith, trustful hope, and selfless charity.
We ask for the grace we need and the guidance of the Holy Spirit during our journey of life and our pilgrimage to heaven.
We make this prayer through Christ your Son and our Lord.
Amen.
